These Terms explain how the Aabode website, booking platform and related services work. They are written to make the roles of Aabode, accommodation suppliers and travellers clear.
1. About Aabode and these Terms
Aabode.com, Aabode and Aabode Subscriptions are trading names or services operated by Trova Pty Ltd ACN 620 923 480 (Trova, Aabode, we, us or our).
These Terms apply to your use of the Aabode website, booking pathways and related digital services. They should be read together with our Privacy Policy and any booking-specific terms shown before you complete a reservation.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding contract to make a booking or create a member account.
If a booking is completed through another website, booking engine, accommodation brand or marketplace, the terms presented at the point where the booking is completed will apply to that booking. If there is an inconsistency, the booking-specific terms presented at checkout will prevail to the extent of the inconsistency.
2. Aabode's role
Aabode operates a digital marketplace and booking platform that helps connect travellers with accommodation supplied by property owners, property managers, hotels, accommodation operators and other suppliers.
Unless the booking terms expressly state otherwise, Aabode does not own or operate the accommodation and is not the accommodation supplier.
A booking may involve more than one entity. The relevant accommodation supplier, contracting entity, fees, cancellation terms and other booking conditions will be identified during the booking process.
Aabode may also provide booking, distribution, digital commerce, payment and settlement administration, technology, content, guest support and related platform services.
3. Your use of the Site
You may use the Site only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
You must not misuse the Site, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorised access, scrape or copy substantial content, use automated tools without permission, submit false or misleading information, infringe intellectual property rights, or use the Site for unlawful, abusive, fraudulent or deceptive activity.
We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect users, the platform, security, legal compliance or the integrity of the service.
4. Accounts, identity and security
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for information submitted through your account.
We may ask you to verify your identity, payment details or other information where reasonably required for fraud prevention, security, regulatory compliance or the administration of a booking.
If you believe your account has been compromised, you should notify us promptly and change your credentials.
5. Property listings and user content
Property listings may be supplied by accommodation providers, property managers, owners or other authorised parties.
Those parties are responsible for ensuring their listing information is accurate, current and not misleading, including information about the property, location, amenities, availability and pricing.
Reviews and other user-generated content represent the views of the person who submitted them. We may remove content that is unlawful, misleading, abusive, infringing, irrelevant or otherwise contrary to these Terms.
By submitting content to the Site, you confirm that you have the rights needed to provide it and grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, display, adapt and distribute that content for the operation, promotion and improvement of Aabode and related services.
6. Making a booking
A booking is subject to the terms displayed to you before you complete the reservation.
Those terms may identify the accommodation supplier, contracting entity, accommodation charge, fees, payment timing, cancellation policy, security deposit or bond requirements, house rules and other conditions relevant to your stay.
You should review the booking summary and applicable terms carefully before confirming your reservation.
7. Booking price and fees
The total amount payable for a booking may include one or more of the following components:
accommodation charges;
cleaning, linen or other property-specific charges;
a Traveller Service Fee, booking fee or guest service fee;
digital, technology, platform or distribution-related charges;
asset protection or guest protection charges;
government taxes, levies or statutory charges; and
optional extras or ancillary services selected by you.
Not every charge applies to every booking. Any mandatory or unavoidable charge that can be calculated when a price is displayed will be included in the minimum total price displayed before you complete the booking, in accordance with applicable Australian consumer law.
8. Traveller Service Fee
Where disclosed for a booking, a Traveller Service Fee is a fee payable by the traveller to Trova for Trova platform and traveller services.
Those services may include booking technology, reservation administration, payment and settlement administration, guest communications, digital guest services, content and listing services, distribution and connectivity, identity and fraud-prevention functionality, platform hosting, cybersecurity and related technology and support services.
The Traveller Service Fee is separate from the accommodation charge payable for the stay.
The Traveller Service Fee is not a surcharge for using a particular credit card, debit card or other payment method and, where it applies, it applies irrespective of the payment method selected.
Where the accommodation is managed for a property owner, the treatment of the Traveller Service Fee and accommodation revenue is subject to the applicable booking and commercial arrangements.
9. Payment methods and card payments
Payment may be made using a payment method accepted by us or the relevant booking provider.
From 1 October 2026, we do not impose a separate surcharge because you choose to pay using eftpos, Mastercard, Visa, American Express, UnionPay or PayPal where the applicable network rules prohibit surcharging.
A bank, card issuer or payment provider may separately charge you fees that are outside our control, including foreign transaction or currency conversion fees.
Where permitted, you authorise the relevant booking or accommodation provider to charge the payment method supplied for amounts properly payable under the booking terms, including accommodation charges, approved extras, security deposits, damage, excess cleaning, replacement keys or access devices, and other disclosed amounts.
10. Payment timing and settlement
The deposit, balance due date and any instalment arrangements will be disclosed as part of the booking terms.
Payments may be collected, administered, settled or distributed by Trova, the accommodation supplier, a related entity, a payment service provider or another party involved in facilitating the booking.
Collection through a single checkout or payment transaction does not mean that every component of the total booking price is payable to the same entity or has the same purpose.
11. Cancellations, amendments and refunds
The cancellation and amendment rules applying to your booking are those disclosed before you confirm the reservation.
Any refund will be determined under those booking terms, the services already provided and your rights under applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.
12. Security deposits, bonds and damage
A booking may require a refundable bond, security deposit, pre-authorisation or other security arrangement. The applicable amount and conditions will be disclosed as part of the booking terms.
Where a refundable bond or security deposit applies, deductions may be made only for amounts properly payable under the booking terms, such as damage, loss, excess cleaning or other authorised charges.
Any separate non-refundable protection or administration fee must be clearly identified as such and must not be described as a refundable bond or security deposit.
13. Travel and insurance
Travellers are responsible for assessing the suitability of their destination and accommodation for their circumstances.
We recommend reviewing official travel advice where relevant and considering appropriate travel insurance.
If insurance or protection products are offered through the Site, the applicable provider, coverage, exclusions and product terms will be disclosed separately.
14. Privacy and communications
We handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable privacy law.
We may use information you provide to administer your account, facilitate bookings, provide services, prevent fraud, communicate with you about your reservation and meet legal obligations.
Marketing communications will be sent only where permitted by law. You may unsubscribe from marketing communications using the method provided in the communication.
15. Third-party services and links
The Site may integrate with or link to third-party websites, payment services, maps, social media, booking systems or other services.
Third-party services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services except to the extent required by law.
16. Intellectual property
The Site, software, branding, design, text, graphics and other content owned or licensed by us are protected by intellectual property laws.
You may use the Site and its content for personal, lawful use in connection with searching, booking or managing accommodation. You must not reproduce, commercially exploit or redistribute our protected content without permission, except where permitted by law.
17. Consumer rights and liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right, guarantee or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.
To the extent permitted by law, each party remains responsible for loss or damage caused by its own breach, negligence, unlawful conduct or failure to comply with applicable obligations.
We do not guarantee that the Site will always be uninterrupted or error-free, but we will use reasonable care in providing the services we undertake to provide.
18. Complaints and disputes
If you have a concern about the Site, a fee or a booking service provided by Aabode or Trova, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it.
A dispute concerning the accommodation itself may need to be addressed with the relevant accommodation supplier identified in your booking terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, subject to any mandatory rights you may have under the law of another Australian jurisdiction.
19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
For an existing booking, the booking-specific terms presented when the reservation was confirmed will generally continue to apply unless a change is required by law, expressly agreed with you, or otherwise permitted under the booking terms and applicable law.
The current version of these Site Terms will be published on the Aabode website.
20. Additional terms for property owners, managers and members
If you list, manage or distribute accommodation through Aabode, separate member, subscription, distribution, payment and listing terms may apply.
Those commercial terms should be read separately from these traveller-facing Terms and will govern the relevant owner, manager or member relationship.
